Kia ora Tiffanie, the North Island has many great places to visit narrowing it down to a couple is difficult. I would recommend a leisurely drive to New Plymouth which has spectacular views of Mt Taranaki, one of New Zealand’s active volcanoes. Looking for adventure? Why not attempt hiking the Tongariro Alpine Crossing which is a 19.4 kilometre day trek. Or perhaps you’d appreciate the 1930’s architecture that adorns the coastal city of Napier.

I have visited NZ few years ago and did a tour for 6 months and I know what you are talking about. NZ is beautiful and it has so much to offer. We loved it and we had so much fun visiting and living like locals for the most part.
